One of the first things that really turned me on about China after I moved here was Faye Wong (Chinese, Wang Fei 王菲). She’s a singer and movie start that rose to prominence in the mid-late 1990s. Few Chinese stars truly pull off a ‘cool’ (in the Western sense) image.
