Well I thought I’d follow up yesterday’s post about keys and hygiene with a thought about keys and fashion.

Most Chinese men over forty think that clipping your key chain on to one of the loops on their pants is perfectly normal. Front or back, a little to the side.

I always thing ‘is he a janitor’ when I see it… though there certainly can’t be that many janitors in town. Very practical. And I’ve even seen a few older ladies sporting this look. Fortunately among the younger crowd it’s not as popular.
